Georg Utz GmbH and Connected Load Carrier launch new connected pallet "UPAL-K" to transform supply chain efficiency
Utz, a leading pallet manufacturer, is taking the next step in smart logistics with the introduction of pallets that go far beyond the traditional role of transporting goods. Presented at the IMHX trade show in Birmingham, these innovative connected pallets are the result of a new collaboration between Utz and Connected Load Carrier (CLC).
In collaboration with CLC, Utz equipped the first batch of connected pallets with a solution that combines RFID and beacon technology. This unique combination offers real-time visibility and generates valuable data to support greater efficiency, transparency and smarter decision-making across the supply chain.
Full control with the CLC’s 360° Asset Control Tower
Each connected pallet is designed to connect with Connected Load Carrier’s (CLC) 360° Asset Control Tower, giving the supply chain complete oversight of its assets. A central part of this control tower is the digital twin created for every connected pallet, a virtual mirror that provides real-time information on locations, status and lifecycle. This enables operations teams to accurately track how long each pallet has been in use and make smarter decisions about procurement and asset management. By optimizing usage and extending the lifecycle of pallets, the solution not only reduces costs but also supports sustainability goals by minimizing waste and CO₂ emissions. While the pallets are ready for this solution, access to the 360° Asset Control Tower features is available through CLC. Once enrolled, operations teams can monitor and manage pallets, turning the transportation process into a fully digital and circular supply chain.
